ORIGINS OF THE MINERAL
Recently identified (in 1974), larimar is a rare stone, extracted only in the Dominican Republic, and therefore quite expensive.
It is a mineral whose composition is enigmatic, because it has everything of pectolite (its scientific identification), except its mysterious blue color. It has greater toughness (compared to that of jadeite), so it could contain other minerals. The blue could come from copper, but also from the manganese, magnesium, cobalt or vanadium it contains. The color is very stable and resistant to heat and light, which is rather unusual with this blue.
Its formation is a mine of information: some 100 million years ago, the volcanic rocks emerged from the water, and the magma was cooled in the form of a hot liquid (to 250 degrees), before being projected towards the earth's crust and cool.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Resulting from cooling, larimar will therefore cool all excess heat, that is to say inflammations, fevers, skin rashes, inflammatory attacks... It will also be a remedy for hypertension, muscle contractures, cramps, rheumatism... Its color connects it to the throat and the voice, it will therefore be useful for "expressing anger" before it explodes, but also for unsaid things, and will relieve inflammation in the throat (angina, etc.).
ENERGY PROPERTIES
The formation of larimar - cooling before exploding - and its calcium content will be used to understand its energetic influence. First of all, anger, rage, frustration, repression and other stress can be soothed before suddenly “coming out”. The stone is indeed soft, feminine, soothing for all cases of irritation and excess anger. In the same way, larimar will soothe people with inner anger or very strong ambition.
