ORIGINS OF THE MINERAL
Its Greek etymology tells us about the basic use of this stone: “chrysos” means “gold” and “Kolla” means “glue”, certainly because it was used to fix the gold in jewelry. Theophrastus speaks of it as early as the fourth century BC
Its sedimentary formation is located in the copper oxidation part. For this reason, chrysocolla will often be close to other copper-containing minerals, such as malachite and azurite. In its pure state, it should be blue, but the usual presence of malachite (dominantly green) gives it this blue-green color and greater resistance. Present almost everywhere, it is most often found from the United States, Congo or Peru. If it can, in certain cases, contain a crystalline system, but it generally does not have one and is more similar to an amorphous stone. Its main components are copper, silicon and oxygen.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
An amorphous stone, it goes hand in hand with everything that is flexible and changing in the human being.
