Aventurine is mainly found in India and Brazil. We immediately recognize that its formula SiO2 (one silicon atom and two oxygen atoms) corresponds to that of quartz (the most common combination on the earth's crust). Aventurine therefore belongs to the stable quartz family. Its formation takes place at depth, under very high pressures, and begins with very hot liquid magma (up to 1000 degrees). The green color comes from fuchsite, a kind of mica rich in chromium which will give the tenderness of the stone.
